Ads for SMBC Unnecessarily Gory

Post by lancelinksecretchimp »

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal, and most of our readers will too. However, we've gotten some complaints about the ad with the hole in the guy's head being too gory for our site. Do you reallly have to run that particular ad when you've got so much good material to draw from?

wait, what? Someone complained about a unicorn slaying on your site? What website is this? Not trying to be mean, just a little stunned.

Zach, where have you been advertising?

The complaints weren't about unicorn slaying. They were about the sight of the hole in the head.

Cartoon violence actually offended some people? I mean I can understand if it was realistic looking, but this is SMBC we're talking about. Who reads your comics, 5-year-olds? (not saying that is a bad thing, just confused here)

5 year olds don't get offended by violence. 40 year old women do.

That's because they are the only ones that think of the children! Oh why won't someone please think of the children?

I've found nothing wrong or gory with the ads. Then again I love dead baby jokes

Does whoever made the first complaint not remember seeing Tom and Jerry hack each other into cubes of meat in cartoons that once ran unedited on Saturday mornings or after school? Or how about the Tom and Jerry pastiche they run now on The Simpons -- Itchy and Scratchy?

Yeah, and if that first complainer really is one of the 40-year-old women somebody mentioned, then she's certainly old enough to remember Tom and Jerry. (Still, T&J don't do that stuff now.)

No, I don't believe he did. I guess he didn't want us gore-hogs visiting HIS web-comic's forum.

That's lame, I was kinda hoping that we could find a (possibly) new comic to read. Anybody up for a bit of sleuthing? 'Cause I can't be arsed to find out for myself.
