Man, I'd had my old avatar for ages. It was time for a change.

It's a bison, a close relative of the cow once found in massive numbers on the plains of North America. They were nearly hunted into extinction in the 19th century (at least in the US, the damage may have been less extensive in Canadia) but still survive in some places.
It was pretty extensive here too. But we still have wild bison in Manitoba, so that's pretty cool. (And partly why I'm so fond of them.)

I was going to make a smart-ass remark regarding Euclid's 'the more you know' moment.

But then I realized it was in response to Astro, who has a perfectly good reason for not knowing that tidbit. Living on another continent and all.

As for North Americans, it is mostly common knowledge I think?

There are at least enough of them now to make burgers from.

I understood that reference!
Police said they spent some time working out if they could charge the man with being armed with a weapon, as technically he was armed with part of a fish.

Little known fact:
Bison burgers are exclusively the domain of specialized hunters. They shoot the bison, carve out a few burgers, and leave the remainder of the bison to rot in the plains.

It's also common knowledge in Europe.

Apropos common knowledge: Someone explain me the six-legs-fly reference.

I was going to make several negative/disgusted/ridiculous comments about that poster.
And then I saw the Oom-Paw-Paw part.
Well done Prarie Feline Fanciers*. Well played.

*Even remarking that this sounds really creepy is somehow trumped by that pun.

Oh dear. I don't think I can, but I can see if I know anyone going. Also Muezza is still very tiny, she just went to the vet today, and they told me she is the only cat regularly brought in who is not overweight. Richard is slightly larger, I'll try to post some pics soon.
