I thought the flashback was unnecessary. Not every comic has to go middle-end-beginning. Beginning-Middle-End is in fact quite sufficient in many situations.

It's still a good point, though. The order of the panels was distracting and I had to go back and re-read it from the beginning after reading the final panel. Just seems pointless, really.

That's not really the issue. Without knowing the context, it was difficult to process the first two panels.
And now that I'm thinking about it, the second panel is completely meaningless. It adds nothing to the comic.
