Correlation? I'll say.
Listen, you ever want your graph to have correlation you just need the right kind of paper i.e skewed paper will give you correlation even if all of your results are random. Or log-log paper if you have some terrible curve.

Re: Amazon Erases Orwell Books From Kindle
They're not really promoting Kindles for a few reasons:
1. Everyone's still kind of uncertain about it.
2. It means less money if hardcover sales go down.
3. It's an expensive luxury item that not many people want.
4. People are still buying books anyway.
I'm not sure about the Kindle itself, because like you say it isn't really being promoted well, but I do think that eBooks are going somewhere, since they're more convenient. They're simply too expensive at the moment, and the publishing industry is trying to keep it down.

I'm not sure about the Kindle itself, but I do hope e-books or e-book readers take off. They're more convenient and it's better for the environment if we're not using as much paper.
Also it is (or should be) a lot cheaper to buy a bunch of copy-pasted data than it is a properly binded book. I mean, I love books, but they are way too expensive.

Hahah wacky.smiley_cow wrote:I'm not sure about the Kindle itself,
Also part of the problem with the Kindle is that ebooks are cheaper (although the Kindle itself is quite pricey). Since ebook prices are much lower, hardcovers don't sell as well, and that destroys their profit margin. Isn't that ridiculous?

Also, I figure they can't stop progress forever. Even without a lot of promotion, Kindles are still doing well, and lots of people are still buying them. If there's a strong market for them, eventually e-book readers are going to sell. At least that's my prediction. If publishing companies are successful in preventing this, I will be sad.

Re: Amazon Erases Orwell Books From Kindle
Actually the prices are the same to slightly more expensive with the ebooks. A typical e-book on amazon is like $15 (US), which is about the price of a really short hardback. Paperbacks are cheaper though (usually $7-$13), which is stupid because you'd think with an e-book you're just paying for the author and editors, plus a little profit for the publishers, not the cost of binding the thing.LordRetard wrote:LordRetard wrote:I'm not sure about the Kindle itself,Hahah wacky.smiley_cow wrote:I'm not sure about the Kindle itself,

I used to have a long dalí-style moustache but we put an end to that, thankfully.

You're probably not old enough man. I mean I started growing a beard at 17 (as well as a few failed experiments prior) but most people can't.
