notice that a comes before half, making the half belong to the rest of the sentence making it part of the noun.

if we reversed the words then what you said would be true because the half would be an adjective.

Yes, I thought of that shortly after posting, and hoped everyone would ignore my silly Dutch way of interpreting your supposedly easier grammatical structure, like so many times before. Once again I realise I should never hope. I am sorry for making this mistake, recognizing it for what it was, and not doing anything about it. I will kick myself in the shins twenty times - or even more, if it seems necessary - while staring at your way too small octagonal picture with equally small print, hoping to learn something about this 'E-learning' it seems to promote.

You don't see me talking to people in any of the languages that I've (not really) learned.

Anyway, this whole thing could have been avoided by capitalizing proper nouns.
