Too much traffic perhaps? I don't seem to be having wait times with other sites. Just Aristoi.

When you guys say "slow," do you mean 3-6 seconds for the front page to load, or 30 seconds? (or worse!?). And, how about the faq page? Does it load much much faster? Or just a little faster?

If 3-6 seconds range, I'm about to introduce a set of optimizations that should cut the load time in half. When we first built the website, we didn't intend on the DB being REALLY FARKIN SLOW.

Thanks!

It was like in the 10 seconds range; if it happens again I will check the FAQ page to see if it's a DB issue.

The slow down usually happens arround noon for me. I'm guessing its a high-traffic time. For whatever reason, SMBC seems much slower at noon too. Are they on the same server or is it just both are independently taxed for resources at the same time?

SMBC and Aristoi are on completely different servers (yahoo vs dreamhost). I've never seen SMBC get slow like Aristoi does, though.

The new optimizations are in on Aristoi. I suspect these will help a little, but not much. I've pretty much beaten the DB access to a bloody pulp.
