Re: Cooking Experiments!
There is no photo, because food was time sensitive. But I just made Deep Fried Camembert with Cranberry Sauce.
I was super lazy with the cranberry sauce and just bought a premade one. But I floured and egged, and crumbed the camembert and fried it in canola oil. And it was friggin awesome. Anyone of you who didn't eat deep fried camembert today had a lesser day than I did. Just saying.

I'm looking forward to making two soups this weekend. Black Bean Soup and Paraguayan Soup. Will keep you informed.

That fried cheese sounds awesome. So do black beans.
I made some pretzels the other day. Probably make some bagels tomorrow.

Made some bagels. Turned out really well (I've eaten 2 1/2 already). Also made a batch of potato chips at the same time, which also turned out great.

Re: Cooking Experiments!
Oh fuck yeah. One of my parents cooked this once when I was a child and it still sticks in my mind today as an amazingly delicious food. Although there's always the risk that if I try it now the reality would never live up to the memory, or that my tastes will have changed so much that I would dislike it now.Kimra wrote:There is no photo, because food was time sensitive. Don't worry, the reality lives up. I can assure you the food I made was amazing.
EDIT: You could feel your arteries clogging as you at it.

Re: Cooking Experiments!
I made it the day after christmas (well finished it then) because apparently I forgot how long these things take.
So here's my fourth ever Gingerbread 'House'.
(It's a dragon in the middle of standing stones. It also looks like a 12 year old made it. But I'm still proud.)

You didn't have to explain it. Art needs no explanation.*

It's eatable right? I know some major competitors use inedible glues.

Re: Cooking Experiments!
I refuse to make food that can't be eaten. That's just a giant waste of time and food. In that same vain, me calling it gingerbread is actually a vicious lie, because I don't put powdered ginger into it. Because I'm allergic to powdered ginger. And I'm not making food I can't eat. So really it is a cinnamon bread house.Liriodendron_fagotti wrote:It's eatable right? I know some major competitors use inedible glues.

Allergic to both powdered ginger, and to chocolate? I don't envy you, Kimra.
