What are you reading right now?
Totally inevitable, yeah.
I just finished reading some plays by Samuel Beckett. The collection includes Krapp's Last Tape, All That Fall, Embers, and two plays for mimes. All That Fall is my definite favourite (I'm a sucker for awful ends) but the mime plays are surprisingly good too.

Re: What are you reading right now?
About twenty pages from the end of Les chroniques de mon oncle* which I borrowed from a friend. I'm pretty sure it was translated from English, but I'm way to lazy to the actual original English book for you. I'm not even sure my translations the actual original title. Anyways, it's an awful book, it's pretty much a Treasure Island fanfiction with a Mary Sue thrown in, and I'm fairly certain written for people much younger than I am, yet it's still 350 pages. If I hadn't borrowed it from someone I wouldn't even bother finishing it.
Before that I read L'étranger and before that I read Tarmac, which is a book from Quebec. I think next I might spoil myself a bit and read something in English for a change.
*The Chronicles of my Uncle

Just finished reading Stephen Fry's autobiography, Moab is My Washpot. A very good book. Talks about his time in prison and such.

I'm currently about 1/3 of the way through World Without End.
Next on the dockett is Pygmy by Chuck Palahniuk.
After that, if I don't figure out my library situation, is either my Seven screenplay or my grandfather's memoirs. Neither of which will be good pre-sleep reading, I don't think.

I want to read this so much, but first I actually need to find a copy of it somewhere. I may be at Chapters in Winnipeg later today though, so if I'm lucky, maybe I can find it there.Cirtur wrote:Just finished reading Stephen Fry's autobiography, Moab is My Washpot. A very good book. Re: What are you reading right now?
What should I read next guys!! I have no idea and I couldn't make up my mind yesterday. I'm thinking of a short novel that's not too complicated. I almost started reading Israel Potter but Melville requires way more focus than I have. I'm thinking some Márquez, or more plays; I have a couple more plays by Sartre and Beckett that I want to read eventually.

Have you read The Mind's I yet? I've been meaning to pick up a new copy ever since I lost my old one, and it's really a good read.
Also Gödel, Escher, Bach: An Eternal Golden Braid if you haven't already.

Re: What are you reading right now?
I have Gödel Escher Bach and Metamagical Themas in my bookcase right now and I still haven't read them. I'm just not into the idea because it looks like it'll take me a while to read them, especially during school.
