Re: RPG: Take 3 (Discussion Thread)
Hey, it's this thing! Again! I was planning to start it back up when the forumbattle was over. Which it is.
So, I am going to try.
If anybody else wants a piece of this action, I think there's room for a couple more characters.
So, here's what's going down with the driving. It's about 20 minutes to the hospital under ideal conditions, which are pretty close to what you have right now, apart from the whole dusk business. Every three minutes, the kid's going to have to make a check to keep from going into shock - so that's six checks total. If he fails one, his condition gets worse. If he fails a second, he dies. Ed, I'll let you make these rolls, since there's really not a whole lot of fancy driving to be done. Each one you're trying to roll 13 or lower.
They're not great odds, but they're better than leaving him in the dirt.

Police said they spent some time working out if they could charge the man with being armed with a weapon, as technically he was armed with part of a fish.

A summary, for the newcomers and the forgetful:
It's 1934, Kansas City, Missouri. Except there are occasionally wizards and robots and minotaurs and stuff.
All the characters, for reasons of their own, started out in atavern speakeasy that had a bunch of kids in it for some reason. A kind of shady-looking guy called Yorba showed up, talked to a lady, and left with her son. They went outside, and both of them got shotgunned. Fatally, in Yorba's case; almost, in the boy's. Ed's character, Ed, patched up the kid a little bit, and Mr. Phentermine (Lethal) tried to get some information about the shooter's car. Mimi (Astasia) called the police, Marcie (Ninja) looted the kid's mom. John (LR) got all worked up about something other than the obvious. And Jimmy (Dinnsdale) got in a cookware fight with a thug.

Man, I totally forget. Why the hell am I in the same car as these guys? That's dumb.

I think you wanted to shake down the lady that Yorba was talking to.
But can you ever really know what goes on in that guy's head?

Oh I remember now! I was going to brutalise the woman until she gives up the money. The money that she doesn't have. Doesn't make a huge difference to me.

Re: RPG: Take 3 (Discussion Thread)
Well! Looks like I get to sticky these topics again. Should I make all of the rolls right now, or do them one each turn? Also a point of clarification is needed: Two failed rolls and the kid dies period, or two failed rolls in succession?
Also, does Sevans' contribution in the 'Official Actions' thread count? And if so, who's truck is that? If not mine, why is LR apparently in it?

Could I join in?
I am someone watching from the sidelines who decides to take part. I have a mysterious lower body, but other than that a normal guy.
Called Julian.

The three people AWOL are Astasia, Littleninja, and Dinnsdale. Astasia was last active a couple days ago, Ninja was last active a couple months ago, and Dinnsdale was last active a quarter-year ago. Personally, I would suggest creating a new one unless you can get permission to use their characters. How to create a character is covered here, and you can use the following template:
Name "Nickname" Surname
Special Feature: Feature Name (explanation of feature's game mechanic)
Class: Profession Name
Skills:
+ Professional Skill
+ Professional Skill
- Non-Professional Skill
? Fancytime Mystery Skill

I'll join in, but only if my original character idea of Dick Tracy is allowed. Otherwise I'll have to pass again.

Is it really that hard to come up with an original character?

Which Dick Tracy do you want? Are you aiming for this Tracy:
Or are you leaning more towards the Dick Tracy from the newspaper comic?

Re: RPG: Take 3 (Discussion Thread)
Cirtur's character is up! When he appears remains to be seen.
I took the liberty of freeing up your mystery skill. That's one that you can fill in at any time during the course of the game, when there's a skill you need, but didn't expect to. But unless you tell me otherwise, I'm going to say that your ability still includes the unpredictable Psychic Pelvis. (It also restricts your wardrobe options somewhat.)
