Pictures what I drew
Since dropping out of school I have been spending a lot of time in a dark room listening to CBC and watching National Film Board videos while drawing things. Please don't be too hard on me.
Sorry my scanner isn't the greatest, so some of the pictures are a bit light.

I really like the top one!
I have the same problem with my sketches being really light - it helps if you increase the contrast and darken the photo in a picture editing program.

Cool, I will try that next time I have access to that scanner (it's at my mom's house). I'm ashamed to admit I'm fairly scanner illiterate so I welcome any advice.Apocalyptus wrote:I really like the top one!

Also thanks! That one easily took me the longest, though the bottom two probably took me about twenty minutes each, so it's not really much of a contest.

Your lines are really good, especially on the fabric - I can not draw fabric folds to save my life.

I haven't seen that much of your stuff. Maybe that means you should post some more drawings.

Don't listen to her, Ahmet, your drawings are fine where they are.

Thanks, fabric is one of those really tricky things. It took me ages before I could draw it without resorting to some kind of model to make it look natural.Apocalyptus wrote:Your lines are really good, especially on the fabric - I can not draw fabric folds to save my life.
Drawing is a skill that needs to be developed. You should draw more and post your work.AHMETxRock wrote:So EVERYONE draws better than me here, huh?

It's nothing personal, I just like watching you cringe.

I like the shade in number three... the pose appeals to me too, especially the angle of the head.

Thanks, the pose was actually the reason I drew it; I copied him off of a photograph on Getty images. It is way too hard to find pictures of men to use as models.

Bear God! Because as with everything else, I'm a month behind the times*
*Also no scanner.
A clockwork bird because last week during Skype Ed told me to draw it and I couldn't help myself. See what happens when you don't do Skype chats? I don't draw what you tell me to.
It's just a pencil, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it now. Now that I have a copy that exists in digital form, I may go crazy and try and ink it or colour it or something. For the curious, this was my reference when I was drawing it.

I quite like that.
Though I don't remember what prompted it in Skype, though that may have been when I stepped out for a moment.
